Filomena Diaz-Johnson, also known as Filly, has lived in Southern Utah for the past 20 years. She started the Doggy Dude Ranch in 1990.

Originally from New York City, she has taken care of animals for over 42 years. She has also been fortunate enough to work with several wonderful large/small animal vets and trainers and has cared for thousands of dogs - from tiny to large breeds.

Filomena personally fosters dogs for individuals and families who wish to keep their dogs and due to either a temporary health, money or housing problem can not do so. Filomena has had great success in helping these dogs stay with their families.

"My primary goal as a rescuer, trainer and behavior counselor is to help a dog stay in their original home. When that is not possible, I work with the rescued dog to make it easier to find a new home."

Her current focus is on the everyday manners through socialization and encouraging dogs to grow into wonderful companions through Pawsitive Learning classes and private sessions using positive reinforcement methods.

Her family of animals include 5 dogs, 2 cats, 1 citron cockatoo, foster animals, 1 pot-bellied pig, 2 horses and a large flock of chickens.

Her work with animals is a big part of her life, but not complete without the loving support of her husband, Stephen Johnson and daughter, Daniella Diaz.
